Skyline Lacrosse - March News

Opening weekends!

The 2017 season kicked off with boys’ games starting at the end of February and girls games starting the first weekend of March! Get ready for lots of lacrosse and lots of fun over the next 10 weeks.

Parents, thank you for making sure your lacrosse player arrives arrives at games on time, well-rested, and prepared. And thank you for modeling a positive attitude, good sportsmanship, and commitment for our kids!

Some of our teams are carrying small rosters - while this means more playing time for all, it is also essential to prioritize attendance at games and let team managers/coaches know if your child is unable to attend. NCJLA is strict about game cancellations - we cannot cancel due to few players (we must forfeit and scrimmage with those players we have).

We hope you enjoy watching your child play in games - our coaches remind you that games complement practice, where most of the learning really happens. Success at lacrosse is all about hard work, lots of practice, and 100% effort - so thank you for getting your kids to practice!

Space available on boys U12 and U14 teams

There are still a couple of spots left on our boys U12 and U14 teams, if any boys want to join a team late. If you have friends who are interested, please direct them to joanne@skylinelacrosse to register.

Cookies sale success

Thank you to all who participated in cookie dough sales this year, and especially to the parents who volunteered their time as team cookie managers. We raised more than $7000 this year! Revenue from our cookie dough sales offsets costs for the club, helps fund our scholarship program, and keeps fees lower for everyone.

Captain’s Clinic series for boys

Skyline Club is excited to announce it will be offering our first ever Captains Clinic for boys players U10-14.  These special skills clinics will be coached by Varsity Captains from Bishop O'Dowd and Piedmont High School who will work with your player to hone their skills and increase their knowledge of lacrosse through small sided field drills and scrimmages. The clinics offer a low player to coach ratio (maximum 5:1) and each session will be focused specifically to your player’s age group.  Dates are 4/8 at Witter, 4/9 and 4/30 at O’Dowd and they will be in the afternoon (exact times TBD).  There will be three 90 minute sessions per day, one for each age group (U10/U12/U14).  The cost per session is $45/player, and due to the low player to coach ratio space is extremely limited so if you are interested please sign up.

In addition to the Varsity Captains from Bishop O'Dowd and Piedmont High School the Head Coach of the Bishop O'Dowd JV Team, and former Skyline Club Coach, Alex Yu will be at the Clinics to work with your player.  To register or for questions, please email Alex Yu at
