The U8 teams primarily comprised of 1st and 2nd graders that will be playing in a non competitive league purely for the introduction of lacrosse to the younger player. There will be no Post Season Playoffs or Championships and therefore wins and losses will not be formally counted. We hold evaluations for boys at the U8 level to determine overall skill set, athleticism, coachability, and attitude.
Participation on the U10 team requires attendance at at least 1 evaluations date in November. Participation in additional tryout dates is recommended to allow the best opportunity for player specific instruction.
The U10 teams are primarily comprised of 3rd and 4th graders in both a developmental and competitive environment based on skill set. The focus for all players and coaches will be on learning the skills and sportsmanship necessary to enjoy and succeed in the sport of lacrosse, while developing the skills and athleticism to be competitive in lacrosse. Boys will share playing time, and play all positions on the field. U10 includes Post Season Playoffs and Championships.

The U12 teams are a second level organization primarily comprised of 5th and 6th graders. The focus will be to learn more about different strategies of Lacrosse and what the basics of field vision are. Players will continue to develop fundamental lacrosse skills while engaging in more competitive play. Boys will share and earn playing time, play all positions on the field, and begin to find the position that each enjoys playing and succeeds at best. U12 includes Post Season Playoffs and Championships typically held in May, but possibly extends into the beginning of June.
Seniors (U14) Program
Participation on the U14 team requires attendance at at least 1 evaluations date in November. Participation in additional evaluation dates is recommended to allow the best opportunity for player specific instruction. The U14 teams are a third level organization primarily comprised of 7th and 8th graders. The focus for all players and coaches will be to continue growing the skills and sportsmanship necessary to succeed in the sport of lacrosse at the high school level. Boys will earn playing time through both skill and attendance, play their respective positions, learn more of the complex concepts of Lacrosse and continue to grow their field vision. This is the highest level of youth lacrosse that requires commitment and focus. U14 competes against seasoned players from around the bay area, and is the final age division before entering high school. U14 is used as a platform to prepare the players for the rigors of high school lacrosse. U14 includes Post Season Playoffs and Championships typically held in May, but possibly extends into the beginning of June.
Disclaimer: Once registration has filled a waitlist will be activated. You may register your child to be added to the waitlist. However, this does not guarantee a spot on the team. Based on registration numbers and waitlist numbers Skyline Lacrosse Club reserves the right to hold evaluations to select individuals for team placement. Missing all evaluation dates qualifies as an automatic cut from the registration roster.
Age based teams are determined by your child's age as of August 31st of the current year. i.e. To play on the U14 Boys team your son must not yet be 13 on August 31st of this year. The NCJLA will continue to have A, B, and C Divisions within specific age groups and we may field more than one team in some age groups.
